This waiver applies to the Built to Stand young adult retreat, hosted by Legacy Rewired, taking place at Gladstone Mountain, Alberta, from Friday August 7 through Sunday August 9, 2026.
Who this applies to
Every participant, ages 18 to 25, who registers and attends the retreat.
What the retreat involves
The retreat is a weekend of group sessions, guided reflection, outdoor activity (including time at or near a lake and around a fire), and shared meals and lodging in a mountain camp setting. It is a personal growth and faith-based retreat. It is not therapy, medical care, mental health treatment, or a substitute for any of those.
Acknowledgment of risk
I understand that participation is voluntary and involves reasonably foreseeable risks, including but not limited to:
- Physical activity, uneven terrain, weather, water, fire, and other outdoor conditions.
- Emotional discomfort that may come with reflecting on personal history, faith, and relationships.
- Travel to and from the retreat location.
I take responsibility for my own decisions about which activities and conversations I participate in.
Health and emergencies
I confirm I have disclosed any medical conditions, allergies, or medications relevant to my safety at the retreat, and I have provided a working emergency contact at registration. In a medical emergency I authorize retreat staff to seek emergency medical care on my behalf; I am responsible for any resulting costs.
Confidentiality
The retreat room is confidential. What is shared by any participant stays in the room. The only exceptions are situations where staff are required to act to protect someone from imminent harm to themselves or others, or where disclosure is required by law.
Media and photos
Group and landscape photos may be taken during the weekend. No one will be photographed without their permission, and no photos of you will be shared publicly without your consent.
Code of conduct
I agree to treat every participant, mentor, and staff member with respect, to keep the confidentiality of the room, and to follow reasonable safety and camp guidelines. Legacy Rewired reserves the right to end participation for anyone whose conduct puts others at risk.
Release
To the extent permitted by law, I release Legacy Rewired, Christopher Friesen, the retreat venue, and all volunteers, mentors, and staff from liability for injuries, losses, or damages arising out of my voluntary participation in the retreat, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Refunds
The $90 registration covers your bunk and meals. If you can no longer attend, contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to arrange a refund or transfer of your spot, subject to camp booking constraints.
By completing checkout and selecting "I have read and agree to the liability waiver," I confirm I am 18 years of age or older, I have read and understood this waiver, and I agree to it on my own behalf.
